Automobiles in German Town Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Authorities mentioned they were alerted by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Police say they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been applied in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other marked cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement state early analysis suggest the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are not yet informed of any harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the community for information.

A high-ranking official stated the vandalism left him without words and required to be solved promptly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the murder of nine victims by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
